My partner bought this oil painting in the early 80's at the estate sale of Aileen (unsure of spelling) Banks in Brome (Eastern Townships of Quebec). He was told that it was a study for the 1969 painting he did for Madame Vanier, wife of the former governor-general. I can't find a photo of the painting he did for her to compare so can only presume the information is correct. My partner is wanting to sell this painting but we're wondering how best to value it. The painting is small (8"x10") compared to his other works which are closer to 24"x36". It's signed in the lower right corner and does not have a date as far as we can see. Any information/offer is appreciated.
