Help Sadie Run Again

Please help support Sadie, my Mom's sweet Cocker Spaniel puppy. Sadie was unfortunately born with a severe congenital disease called Patellar Luxation; this means that her kneecaps dislocate by themselves whenever she jumps or plays, and sometimes even when she simply walks. This disease has 4 stages. Currently, both of Sadie's hind legs are in stage 3; meaning her kneecaps dislocate often by themselves but she can still "pop them back in" if she lays a certain way and rests. Sadie must undergo surgery on both her legs immediately to avoid progression to stage 4 of the disease. At this stage, she will no longer be able to walk at all. Three weeks ago, Sadie's right hind leg gave out from under her while playing a game of fetch with my Mom. The same thing happened to her left leg last week and she was officially diagnosed with Patellar Luxation when my mother brought her to see our veterinarian. Sadie is only 9 months old. She is a sweet, loving dog who just wants to play. Her favorite games include fetch, tug'o'war and playing with her senior sister, Phoebe, a 13 year old Cocker Spaniel, for whom my mother also cares. Phoebe has congestive heart failure and must take medication for life. My Mom has loved and taken care of dogs all her life. She was recently diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and is currently on an rigid medical treatment plan. Her own medication is very costly, and we simply cannot afford this sudden procedure on top of every other expense. Like all dogs, Sadie deserves a happy life and to be able to play and run without pain. $8,000 would cover the cost of the surgery to both legs and absorb her after-care costs. We will provide photo updates and are prepared to share receipts throughout this process. Should we be able to fund this procedure and all related post-op items (dog stroller, gates & rails, outdoor carpets, ramps, medication, etc.), we will donate any excess funds to a local animal rescue (suggestions welcome).
