Robert Held Art glass (also called Skookum Art Glass) was once Canada's largest hot glass studio and gallery and was located in Vancouver. His collections ranged from classic to contemporary and were based primarily on color and design elements. He made vases, bowls, hearts and paperweights. His glasswork has been chosen for many prestigious awards and collections, including some work for Tiffany. This piece began simply by gathering molten glass onto the end of a "blowpipe." In March 2013, after 39 years of artistry, Mr. Held retired. This vase is from that period. This hand-blown vase displays the pulled feather design. There are no chips, cracks or scratches on this beautiful piece, except a few on the bottom of the vase (see photo). It is signed "Skookum" (see photo). It is from a non-smoking house. Measurements: 8 ¼ inches wide at top; 11 inches tall; 4 ¾ inches wide at base.
