My Thai Village Restaurant is hiring a full-time Cook to start immediately. We are looking for someone with 2 years or more experience cooking Thai food who is hard-working, organized, creative, team player, passionate about food and customer service. New Comers , Aboriginal , Youths, Visible Minority Groups are Welcomed Salary: $17 hourly for 40.0 hours per week Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible Location: Kanata West, Ontario (1 vacancy) Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-Time (Weekend, Day, Evening & Overtime) Cuisine Specialties: Thai Types of Meals/Food Prepared Lunches; Dinners; full course meals Number of positions: 1 Work Setting: Restaurant Languages: English Education: Completion of High School Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Cook Trade Certification Skills Requirement: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef, Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies, Inspect kitchens and food service areas, Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, Clean kitchen and work areas, Organize and manage buffets and banquets, Manage kitchen operations. Specializations: Stocks, soups and sauces; Vegetables, fruits, nuts, and mushrooms; Meat; Poultry; Fish Other Information: Must have experience in Fruits/Vegetables carving for plating; Must have experience in cooking Thai entrees, Thai soups, Thai desserts, and Thai curries; Must have experience cooking Thai food on a commercial Chinese wok.
